High Five Year Old!

Harrow Chess Club’s youngest member Apollo Premadasa landing a perfect high five on Magnus Carlsen at the London Chess Classic. Apollo was on stage at Olympia to make the ceremonial first move for the world champion’s opponent, Levon Aronian, currently world number six. This was the final day of the 2019 Grand Chess Tour, with the young Chinese sensation Ding Liren emerging as this year’s winner.



Welcome!

Our home venue benefits from a spacious and well lit club room.

Prospective members are invited to visit the Club as our guests, play a few games and chat with the Club Secretary and other Members. The Club caters for players of all strengths.

Competitive Chess

As well as hosting informal games and organising competitions between club members, Harrow Chess Club competes in a wide variety of matches against other clubs and Leagues.

Competitions run within the Club include: A Swiss championship. Quickplay, Lightning and Handicap Championships.

We also take part in an annual friendly rapidplay against St Albans.

Teams representing Harrow compete in Middlesex League, Thames Valley League and Hillingdon Chess Leagues.

Harrow Chess Club meets at Harrow High School, Gayton Road, Harrow, HA1 2JG on Thursday nights.
